Use a Human Check to reduce one uncertainty: whether someone can produce a fresh live response. Do not let it erase every other warning sign.
Before meeting, traveling, paying, or sharing documents
- Confirm important claims through independently published contact details.
- Do not send money, crypto, gift cards, access codes, or banking credentials.
- Tell a trusted person where you are going and who you are meeting.
- Meet in a public place and control your own transportation.
- Do not travel internationally based only on an online relationship or job offer.
- Treat urgency, secrecy, isolation, investment advice, and repeated excuses as warning signs.
